Article: eAccess Shows Gains, Net Profit in First Quarter

Tokyo, Aug 6, 2009 - (JCN) - eAccess Ltd. likely made a group pretax profit of around 1.8 billion yen (US$18.9 million) in the April-June period thanks to the acquisition of ADSL service provider Acca Networks Co. and smaller losses in its cellular phone business. The results would mark the telecommunications service provider's first pretax profit for the April-June quarter in three years.

Sales appear to have declined 11 percent about 21.5 billion yen (US$230 billion) as low-priced data cards accounted for a higher proportion of the company's overall cellular phone hardware sales. The sales figures are in line with eAccess' initial ...
