A Christchurch couple have been forced to cancel a British
speaking tour for potential migrants after being warned about
breaching new immigration laws.
Mike and Tammy Bell run a website for migrants called Move2NZ,
with nearly 32,000 members nationwide, and until recently operated
the Skilled Migrant Information and Resource Centre in Lincoln Rd in
Addington.
Mike Bell said the Government last month sent the couple a letter
accusing them of breaching new regulations under the Immigration
Advisers Licensing Act.
"I couldn't believe it when a notice was served on me warning of
penalties of up to seven years in prison without telling me what I
had done wrong," he said.
