New ABA president from Buffalo

Buffalo native Carolyn Lamm, an international arbitration, litigation and trade lawyer in Washington, D.C., took office as president of the 400,000-member American Bar Association.

Miami lawyer Stephen N. Zack, a partner in the law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner, the ABA's new president-elect, is the first Hispanic American to hold that post.

Lamm, a partner with the law firm White & Case LLP, is past president of the District of Columbia Bar and was named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in America by the National Law Journal in 2007.
