TILTON - Oliver Raymond Bell, 90, formerly of Berlin, died
Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in
Tilton, where he had been a resident for the past two years.
Oliver succumbed to the effects of Lewy body dementia. During the
past eight years, he participated in an extensive long-term research
project with the Memory Disorders Research Center in Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston.
Born Dec. 4, 1918, in Berlin, Oliver was the son of Edmund and
Helen (Keenan) Bell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II
and then spent nine months on top of Mount Washington building and
evaluating instruments used for icing research by Northwest
Airlines.
