BOSTON
Area man named ambassador to Norway
President Obama announced yesterday that he is nominating Barry
B. White, a member of the executive board of the Greater Boston
Chamber of Commerce and director of the Massachusetts Alliance for
International Business, as US ambassador to Norway. White is the
second Boston-area resident in as many days to be nominated for an
ambassadorship. On Thursday, Obama tapped Democratic fund-raiser
Alan Solomont of Weston to be the US envoy to Spain.
