West Virginia's "Tea Party" movement has become a visible and
vocal critic of the Obama administration, holding a series of
protests around the state targeting the stimulus, pending federal
cap and trade legislation and proposed changes to the country's
health care system.
That has gotten the attention of some Republican figures, who
have courted or at least appear receptive to these voters.
A group launched earlier this year by state Republican Party
activists, the West Virginia Conservative Foundation, has claimed
credit for funding and helping to stage Tea Party protests.
