WOOSTER -- Wayne County youth are tipping the balance toward the
positive side of the ledger in their behavior related to substance
abuse.
The most recent data in a report called "What's Up With Our
Kids?" -- compiled for Wayne County Family and Children Council --
showed that 83.5 percent of Wayne youth ages 11-18 did not use
marijuana; 74.5 percent did not use tobacco and 56.8 percent did not
use alcohol.
Michael Vimont, quality improvement coordinator at Liberty Center
in Wooster, drew conclusions about the behavior of youth from 2,400
survey respondents in the Orrville, Triway, Wooster, Northwestern
and Rittman school districts.
