Canon has realised this, and in the IXUS 100 has upgraded the standard AUTO mode to include features such as face detection and blink detection technology, all of which help the user better capture the moment. Blink detection technology recognises closed eyes and waits before taking the photograph, while the face detection function focuses on faces in a frame rather than the background.
