We thought we had already seen the strangest ice cream flavors
that could be made, but we somehow missed the lobster ice cream at
Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium until we noticed it this summer.
Co-owner Bill Coggins said customers often are surprised when
they're told that, yes, there are pieces of real lobster in the ice
cream. The flavor dates back to nearly 25 years ago when a couple of
tourists challenged Coggins at his Bar Harbor, Maine shop. They were
big fans of the business, but they wondered why there was nothing
