You must be proud

FIREFIGHTER THOMAS Marovich Jr. of the U.S. Forest Service was killed in the line of duty.

T.J. was from Hayward and served the community as an explorer with Fremont Fire Department.

The forest service brought T.J. home with dignity and honor. The local community and emergency agencies had to come together to plan his July 30 service, and did so in classic fire service tradition.

The East Bay Incident Management Team, led by Chief Lord of Alameda County, is truly a class act. Many team members gave up vacations and time off with family to ensure T.J. was properly honored. These guys are type one in our book. Good job and thanks.
