Stories differ on just how the hamburger came to be, but one
story puts its creation right here in Wisconsin, at the Outagamie
County Fair in Seymour. The year was 1885, and a 15-year-old named
Charlie Nagreen (later to be known as "Hamburger Charlie") flattened
a meatball, put it between two slices of bread, added some onions --
and an American classic was born.
Would putting three small burgers on a stick be an improvement?
Krystal Walling had her doubts. All she knew for sure is that her
4-year-old son, Dawson, wanted a burger.
She decided to give the sliders on a stick a try.
