LEAN TIMES: Blue blood facing red finances

IT IS obviously tough belonging to the upper classes - at least it is if you are Baron Strange of Knockin. The Baron, who is more commonly known as Rhodri Philipps, has reportedly been forced to take time out from his great love, Polo, to defend his GBP 3.6m country pad, which is in danger of being whipped away by Barclays. The bank is seeking permission through the courts to repossess the luxury pile situated in the home counties.

Philipps made an appearance in court in Chichester last week to keep hold of the grandiose home which he shares with his wife, interior designer Sarah Butcher.
