Indonesian central bank seeks lending rate cut

JAKARTA, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian central bank is planning to hold talks with the government and banks as an effort to accelerate lending rate reduction, a local media reported here Saturday.

The talks is planned as Bank Indonesia's monetary easing policy taken in December 2008 has failed to be followed by banks in lowering their lending rate for business.

"We will soon invite them (national banks) and the government to sit together to seek a wayout," Bank Indonesia Senior Deputy Governor Darmin Nasution quoted by Antara news agency as saying here.
