Article: Anthem Acoustic Music Festival set for Sept. 7

WINESBURG -- In a community known for its love of bluegrass, gospel and folk music, Labor Day, Sept. 7 is a good time for an acoustic festival.

Owner of Anthem Guitars and Music Store, Patrick Meechan is organizing the first ever Anthem Acoustic Music Festival.

The festival will be held in a hayfield by the music store and Longenecker Mennonite Church outside of Winesburg. The hay will be cut down and a performance space will be created for the event.

"There is going to be food vendors there with barbecued ribs and all the normal type of fair foods," Meechan said.

Last year a similar festival in Mount Hope drew 700 people. Meechan said there is space for that many ...
