Joel Claude Morgan, 96, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully
at his home on Friday, August 14, 2009. He was born on August 5,
1913, and was the first of five children born to the late Joel
Alonza Morgan and Cora Ashwell Morgan. In addition to his parents,
Claude was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Morgan; two
sisters, Virginia Painter and Dora Fralin; brothers-in-law, the Rev.
Robert Painter, and Joseph Fralin Jr.; a sister-in-law, Gertrude
Morgan; and a niece, Gloria Beckner. Claude is survived by one
brother, Robert Eugene Morgan (Gene), whom he loved dearly; and
three nieces, Joyce and Don Hudson, Charlotte Wimmer, and Rita and
Allen Bennett; also many great-nieces and ...
