Article: Recent storms pose pollination problems

I never really liked science.

While I passed through the rougher patches of physics and chemistry sans tutor, the subject never clicked for me. Until now.

These past few weeks, I found a reason to care about Mother Nature's finer points.

When hail storms barreled through the region, the science seemed obvious. And then when a few more high-wind thunderstorms plowed through the tri-state area, the reason for the destruction seemed pretty clear.

But then farmers with ruined fields began discussing something I was not entirely familiar with - pollination.

Now, before you start thinking about how big of a dummy I am, hear me out.

Yes, I knew plants needed pollination to survive.
