Article: Open week to reveal hidden secrets of Forth Road Bridge

THE hidden secrets of the Forth Road Bridge are to be revealed to the public for the first time.

An "open week" event aimed at giving people a better understanding of how the iconic structure was created and operates will be staged later this year and include guided tours of the bridge.

It is partly in response to concerns of bridge operator FETA that they had lost "face-to-face" contact with customers since the abolition of tolls.

Among the points of interest on the tour will be the anchorage chambers - the giant tunnels into solid rock where the suspension cables are held in place.
