A rational look
Our safety and freedom from attack has been delegated to
government-run entities -- the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force,
Coast Guard, police departments, fire departments and state highway
patrols, etc.
No uproar and misinformation about these organizations is
apparent.
Health care is also a safety issue affecting all citizens.
When estimating the cost of universal coverage, including a
public option, the Congressional Budget Office and others overlook
the fact that many citizens and employers pay large sums for health
coverage, including premiums, co-pays and deductibles. Any increase
in taxes for health care would be substantially, if not totally,
