Article: Printing press celebrating US independence

THIS Saturday, the National Trust's hidden gem in Strabane, Gray's Printing Press, will come to life as costumed characters celebrate Independence Day.

Local people are being urged to come and enjoy the fun at the historic press, which was owned by the Gray family and was a place of training for John Dunlap, who ultimately printed the American Declaration of Independence.

The performance is set in 1911 when Strabane was in the middle of a Westminster by-election for West Tyrone -- probably the most contested seat in the kingdom.
