Article: Ent credit union exceeds $2 billion in assets ; Financial giant has grown by 7% a year for 10 years

Nearly 50 years after some Ent Air Force Base workers pooled $600 in savings to start Ent Federal Credit Union, the institution has surpassed $2 billion in assets, officials of the credit union announced Friday.

Ent dominates the financial landscape of the Colorado Springs area as a top mortgage lender, a major source of credit for consumers and businesses and a provider of a host of other services, ranging from investments to insurance.

Ent has grown by about 7 percent a year for the past decade. It also has added more than a dozen branch offices since 1996, added products and services, beefed up online services and expanded into Denver and Pueblo.
