The coastal breeze and Pacific sun caress the Seal Beach shore,
and homeowners worry that their piece of the paradise pie might be
swallowed up by "big" developers.
That's to say, invading their space with homes or condominiums -
or any structure - that's over two stories. An effort to block any
larger development, Measure Z, is on the November ballot. And it's
about the only "excitement" in this quiet beach town.
Some might say that is more than enough distraction for the quiet
milieu.
The pier and Main Street's retail and restaurant hub continue to
charm visitors.
It's not accidental, not in this beach town where small is quaint
- and where quaint is queen.
