Article: Out & About: 'Murder by Trowel and Error' to be performed

Detective Bernie Fielder knelt beside the body of Professor Manfred Pickle, distinguished archaeologist.

He studied the corpse, which lay face up in a shallow ditch, blood pooling around a trowel that protruded from the abdomen.

Fielder cordoned off the area with crime scene tape, and began his investigation in "Murder by Trowel and Error," a play written by Mary Ann Mogus to be directed by Rebecca Dunn.

It will be performed next spring as a benefit for the Ligonier Valley Writers.

Glenn Wood, of Moon Township, Allegheny County, volunteered to be "the body," and the role of detective will be played by author and former Allegheny County patrolman Ed Kelemen.
