To Light at Last
Thank you for telling a story that deserves to be told
("Trapped," August 9). I was the spokesman for the Massachusetts
Water Resources Authority in 1999, and I lived it. As you know, the
same day that Billy Juse and Tim Nordeen died in their Humvee in
that tunnel deep under Massachusetts Bay, the bodies of John F.
Kennedy Jr., his wife, and sister-in-law were recovered off Martha's
Vineyard. As a result, the tunnel story was buried; most people have
no recollection of the tragedy when I bring it up today. Thank you
for honoring these brave men who lost their lives doing dangerous
work that most of us could never fathom.
