Article: Banner day for the South Charleston Museum

Big things come in small packages. In 230 square feet, the early history of a city will be told through art, artifacts, videos, audio and other tricks of the museum trade.

The South Charleston Museum's "Belgian Glassworkers and the Founding of South Charleston: 1907-1928" will open Sept. 12 next to the Mound Interpretive Center in the LaBelle Theater building.

"Like the new State Museum, there's a feeling of being there in a moment in time," explained Stan Bumgardner, who designed the South Charleston museum and who worked as the creative director for the State Museum renovation at the Culture Center.
