Article: RIVER LEVEL FLOODS OUT DUCKS RACE, OTHER EVENTS

A surge in the Ohio River level at Evansville, which was caused by the seven inches of rain upstream that drenched the Louisville, Ky., area on Tuesday, will last just long enough to disrupt some weekend events.

The 15th annual Ducks on the Ohio race will use a different "racing" format on Saturday.

While people adopting the ducks still will gather at Dress Plaza at 2:02 p.m., instead of deploying the little yellow racers in the river, Goodwill Industries, the sponsor, will conduct the race through a computerized random selection program at its headquarters.
