Bon Secours Hospital will not close, despite whispers that the
struggling institution could shutter its doors soon, its chief
executive said.
"I get those same questions and hear the same rumors ... we are
not closing," said Samuel Ross, CEO of Bon Secours.
"That comes from the highest levels of the organization," he said
of the hospital's Catholic, nonprofit parent company, Bon Secours
Health System Inc., based in Marriottsville.
The fate of the West Baltimore hospital came into question
earlier this year when it asked the legislature for $5 million to
bolster its balance sheet while it came up with a new strategic plan
to serve a community that often relies on the emergency room for all ...
