Article: Historic Superblock buildings in Baltimore at risk, preservationists say

In 2004, when New York-based developer Lloyd Goldman knocked down a Civil War-era building in Jersey City, N.J., to make way for a condo tower that has yet to materialize, the city's historic preservation community was suddenly inflamed.

Now, some of the same preservationists are worried that Goldman may do something similar in Baltimore.

John Gomez, founder and president of the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy, this month sent a letter to the director of the Maryland Historical Trust, J. Rodney Little, warning him about his experience with Goldman and his company, BLDG Management.
