A Pasadena homebuilder will build the first non-custom National
Association of Homebuilders green home in the state in Maryland's
first neighborhood certified by the industry group as green.
"It's the wave of the future," said Jim Mandrin, CEO of Mandrin
Homes. "It's a way to save our environment and save money; it's a
win-win situation."
Mandrin received a certificate for greening North Shore Landing
in Glen Burnie on Thursday from the NAHB. The neighborhood, which
will have 43 homes when fully developed, is the first green
residential project certified by the assocation as green in the
state.
