To be a special team, Mukwonago will need to shore up the special teams.

In a frustrating opener to the 2009 season, the MHS football team looked better than Lake Geneva Badger on offense and defense, but lapses on special teams allowed the scoreboard to tell a different story in a 21-16 loss at home Friday.

"We did everything but win the football game, unfortunately," coach Bill Schulte said.

The loss of running back Josh Tilander added injury to the insult. On his second carry of the game, the junior suffered a foot injury that figures to shelve him for the rest of the year, delivering a blow to the MHS running game.
