Five more dead birds and a chicken have tested positive for West
Nile virus in East Contra Costa County, the Contra Costa Mosquito
and Vector Control District reported.
Dead birds were found in Antioch, Brentwood, Byron, Discovery Bay
and Oakley, and the chicken was located in Oakley.
So far this year, the district has identified 17 groups of
mosquitoes, 24 dead birds and two sentinel chickens. According to
