MICHAEL BUTLER, artistic director of Walnut Creek's Center Repertory Theatre Company, is a high-energy sort of guy with the enthusiasm of a fourth grader on the first day of summer vacation.

It's a pleasant sort of energy to be around, particularly because he has a knack for getting enthusiastic about the right stuff -- like "All Shook Up," the musical opening Tuesday at the Lesher Center.
