Jackson warehouse
destroyed in fire
A Jackson County warehouse was destroyed in an early morning fire
Wednesday.
Ripley Fire Battalion Chief Dave Brubaker said the structure was
fully involved when his department arrived at the Great American
Line warehouse in Millwood.
Jackson dispatchers said the emergency call came in about 4:30
a.m.
Ripley and Ravenswood firefighters responded as part of a mutual
aid agreement with Cottageville Volunteer Fire Department, the first
responders at the site.
Brubaker estimated it took an hour to get the flames under
control. Crews were on scene until nearly 8 a.m. clearing the site.
