Police knowledge of a local gang hangout helped them net four people in a brutal shotgun slaying minutes after the act while the suspects burned evidence in a Richmond garage, detectives say.

Gang turf issues likely preceded the attack inside a San Pablo Avenue barbecue joint that killed two men and terrorized the neighborhood Sunday.

"It was clearly a gang shooting. An execution, really," said Deputy District Attorney Harold Jewett, who filed charges Wednesday that make the suspects candidates for the death penalty. "It hearkens back to the days of Al Capone, with a modern-day twist."
