Nigerian midfielder says Super Eagles will correct past mistakes

LAGOS, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Mikel Obi said the current Super Eagles squad was determined to correct the mistakes, which denied Nigeria the ticket to the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Mikel told reporters in Abuja on Tuesday that Nigeria's flag would be hoisted in South Africa in 2010 if past mistakes were corrected.

He lamented the absence of Nigeria in the 2006 World Cup in Germany and solicited an overwhelming support from Nigerians to achieve the country's dream of being in South Africa in 2010.
