Article: Around the Park: Shipley's Choice residents stage Swim-a-Thon for Matthew

Volunteers, volunteers and more volunteers. From flipping pancakes in the wee hours of the morning, to 12 hours of counting lap after lap, the third annual Shipley's Choice Swim-a-Thon to benefit neurofibromatosis found residents of all ages getting into the swim of things.

Held at the community pool on Sunday, the scene late in the afternoon was a hub of activity both on land and in the water. Three lap lanes were busy with swimmers as volunteers took shifts throughout the day, holding lap counters in hand at the edge of the pool.
