A farmer co-operative maintains key wool projects can be carried out by alternative funding after farmers voted to dump Meat & Wool New Zealand's $6.4 million wool levy.

The Primary Wool Co- operative (PWC) with Romney NZ released an open letter in August urging farmers to vote no to the levy in the lead-up to the election, which must have gained support as only beef and sheep meat levies advanced.
