In a way, Isabelle Grove was a missionary, who through her church
work spread the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Growing up in Lawrenceville in the 1920s, Mrs. Grove would stop
at a convent near her home after school and help the nuns with their
chores.
Isabelle R. Grove, formerly of Valencia and Fort Lauderdale,
Fla., died on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, in Good Samaritan Hospice of
Concordia in Cabot, Butler County. She was 91.
"My mother was a housewife who led a very busy life," said her
son, Alfred A. Grove III of Adams in Butler County.
"And regardless of the amount of time she spent with her church
commitments, she was a good cook who always prepared dinner for us.
