There wasn't much positive in the news last week. The Station
Fire continued to eat up homes and acreage in the Angeles National
Forest, while the state used up more than half of its emergency
firefighting funds in just two months. Details of the horrible 18-
year abduction and assault of Jaycee Dugard continued to emerge. And
doctors warned of drug-resistant bacteria and the growing threat of
swine flu as the school year begins.
That is why we'd like to point out one bright spot in a largely
cloudy week - a ban on robocalls.
