It's hard in the midst of a murderous natural disaster to focus
on other problems and opportunities.
Last week, in the smoke, it was hard to focus on anything at all
but for our fire.
As we mourn the two fallen firefighters and our burnt-out forest,
as we thank the crews who worked so hard to control the blaze, as we
begin to pick up the pieces, we will find that this, too, will pass.
We know that as it does the focus will again return to
California's seemingly unending disasters on the fiscal and
governance front.
Thursday afternoon, a group gathered at the Irwindale offices of
the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership to begin to work toward
statewide reform.
