NORMAL - Those wishing to see Illinois State's basketball team at
Redbird Arena will get more of an opportunity this season.
ISU will play two more home nonconference games than last season
as the Redbirds officially released their 2009-10 schedule on
Friday. ISU opens the season at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on
Nov. 15, with the home opener against North Florida on Nov. 21.
Also, for the first time in five years, the Redbirds start the
Missouri Valley Conference season at home against Wichita State on
Dec. 29.
"It's getting harder and harder," said ISU coach Tim Jankovich of
the scheduling process. "I'm not sure I could say exactly why. We
have to guess that (our success) is the reason."
