Harold "Red" Grange sent shock waves through college football in 1924. The University of Illinois All-American ran for four touchdowns in the first 12 minutes against powerful Michigan, a dizzying performance that has never been duplicated. Grange later turned pro and played for the Chicago Bears, helping usher in the National Football League as a spectator sport.
