Article: County officials discuss grouping together to improve water quality

WOOSTER -- What do you get when you take 10 counties, three watershed areas, an assortment of soil and water supervisors and county commissioners and businesses feeling the pressure from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency?

Did you say the Mohican, Tuscarawas and Walhonding Water Quality Trading Proposal?

There's been some initial discussions among some of the parties about forming a water quality trading area, a mechanism available to improve streams and waterways by limiting the amount of pollutants/ nutrients, especially phosphorous and nitrates, that get into them.
