Article: Baltimore lawyer/former Nigerian presidential candidate facing Attorney Grievance Commission action

The Attorney Grievance Commission tried in vain to track down Godson M. Nnaka, a Baltimore lawyer and former Nigerian presidential candidate.

"He dropped off the face of the Earth," Assistant Bar Counsel Marianne J. Lee said last week in Baltimore County Circuit Court.

But the two complaints filed against Nnaka by former clients remained, so Nnaka's hearing went on without him.

Lee gave Judge Robert N. Dugan the case's 23 exhibits. The clients-turned-witnesses were not in court, Lee said, because Nnaka's lack of a complete response meant their version of events was the only one Dugan should consider under the Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct.
