Matthew Busche admits he was a bit awestruck when he found himself matching moves with George Hincapie in the USA Pro Cycling Championship road race Aug. 30.

Here was a rookie from Wauwatosa racing a veteran who had helped Lance Armstrong win seven Tour de France titles -- a two-time national champion who even has his own clothing line.

Busche was awed, but he wasn't unnerved.

The 24-year-old raced the veteran to the line in Greenville, S.C., and nearly delivered one of his Kelly Benefits Strategies teammates to victory, while claiming fifth place for himself in the premier race.
