A block, a drive and a kick.
VMI needed all three in the last 6 1/2 minutes to pull off a 14-
13 victory over Robert Morris in the season opener at Foster Field
on Saturday.
Like all wins, this one was welcomed cheerily, but it also left
VMI coach Sparky Woods expounding the virtues of game film and what
could be learned from it during the upcoming week off.
The Keydets' experienced offense had not scored and had committed
four turnovers going into the fourth quarter.
"We kept shooting ourselves in the foot," senior fullback Howard
Abegesah said.
