OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Gov. Frank Keating, a supporter of
privatization, says Oklahoma should never have built and operated
golf courses and lodges.
"If we had to do it over again, we probably should have never
gotten the state into the golf course and lodge business," Keating
said. "We should let the private sector do that and partner with
them.
"But we did it. Now, how do we extract ourselves in the best
interest of the taxpayers?"
The threat of massive budget cuts prompted the state Tourism and
