In France's pantheon of famous wine regions, Champagne, Bordeaux and Burgundy reign supreme. And while other areas such as the Rhone Valley, Loire Valley, Beaujolais and Alsace hold their own, the vast southern region of Languedoc-Roussillon does not enjoy ready recognition with many consumers.
