WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States
Mint announced today that the nation will honor Acadia National Park
in Maine through its new quarter-dollar coin program. The Acadia
design will be the 13th to be featured on coins released under the
United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Program, and will
be issued in 2012.
Awed by its beauty and diversity, early 20th-century visionaries
donated the land on the rugged coast of Maine that became Acadia
National Park, the first national park east of the Mississippi
