CBYRA events enjoy solid September breezes

Annapolis Race Week is often plagued by light winds that prevent organizers from giving competitors as much action as they would desire. That certainly was not the case this year as solid breezes throughout the weekend enabled organizers with the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association to conduct at least seven races for all 18 classes.

"Labor Day fell almost a week later than usual this year and I think that helped. We got away from those August doldrums," said Jim Konigsberg, winner of the J/105 class. "I thought the race committee did a tremendous job. We had decent wind and they took advantage by getting off a lot of starts."
