State regulators as well as law enforcement officials at all
levels of government said Wednesday they will commit significant
resources to tackling fraud within the state's troubled taxpayer-
financed child-care program.
They plan to announce on Friday the formation of a task force to
deal with parents, day care providers and others swindling from the
$350 million a year Wisconsin Shares program.
The task force will be led by the Milwaukee County District
Attorney's office and include representatives from the Milwaukee
Police Department, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the
Wisconsin Department of Justice, and the Department of Children and
Families.
